Tee it Up in Central Florida -3 Courses worth the ‘Drive’ !

Tee it Up in Orlando – 3 Courses worth the ‘Drive’ !

Whether you’re a scratch golfer or struggling to break 100, here’s 3+ courses you must check out!

  1-Walt Disney World Golf

I’m a little biased on this location as it’s my home course, but it won’t disappoint golfers of any skill level.  Disney Golf, AKA The Happiest Place on Turf, is comprised of three 18 hole (par 72) courses and one 9 hole walking course. Magnolia, Palm and Oak Trail (the 9 hole) are all located at the  Shades of Green Resort area. Disney Lake Buena Vista Course is located near the Saratoga Springs Resort/Disney Springs area. All courses offer fantastic greens and fairways, excellent pro shops, quick serve stands and on course cart-snacks, and some pretty cool views! Be on the look-out for their signature Mickey bunkers!   It’s my #1 pick for teeing up in Orlando and you can’t go wrong with any course choice! Tip: Lake Buena Vista Course offers sit down dining options on the upper level of the pro shop; The Turf Club and Artist’s Palette.  So if you’re looking to meet up with the family, or kick back with golf buddies after a round, keep that in mind! I do need to mention the con here….pace of play can run slow. It is Disney after all!!

   2-Celebration Golf Club

Located in the beautiful town of  Celebration, FL this course ranks a solid #2 pick for its course beauty and condition. Pace of play was great and it was challenging but not too challenging! Wildlife on course was amazing and you can easily lose focus on your game stopping to take pictures! There was food and beverage on site but bring a change of clothes so you can head to downtown Celebration where the action is following your game! You’ll definitely want to revisit this course again and again!

     3-Orange Lake Golf

Orange Lake Golf  has two par 72 courses, one 9 hole walking “light up” course (night play!), and one 9 hole cart course. Orange Lake Golf is part of the Orange Lake Vacation Resort (8505 W Irlo Bronson Hwy in Kissimmee) so you will need to show an ID and have a tee time booked to get in. Check out their website as they often have great specials (note -they don’t advertise on golf sites) . The Legends is their high-end course and I recommend giving that one a whirl, but for a fun round on a budget The Reserve will definitely do the trick. Legends Walk is their 9 hole “play under the lights” course and Cranes Bend is their 9 hole carted course. Food and beverage are near the pro shops. These courses are my #3 pick because they have a casual vibe, pace of play always seems to run fairly quickly, and  greens and fairways are in good to excellent shape.

So tee up and have a blast!  Florida has excellent choices in golfing and it’s a lot of fun to explore new courses and towns. All of these courses offer instruction so if you’re new to the game book some time with a golf pro and get addicted to the best game on turf!  Looking to live in a golf course community? I can make that happen! I’ll find the house and you bring the cart! 239-691-2288
